What is a Firewall?
Firewalls are network security technologies that monitor and control network traffic based on security rules that an organization's security team defines. Firewalls establish security barriers between internal networks and external networks. They are designed to monitor and control network traffic. In other words they ensure that unwanted or unauthorized network traffic isn’t allowed into the trusted internal network. Firewalls are a protective security control, and are deployed by businesses to protect their networks and build out their initial security programs.
